CROSQ Meeting of Council of Directors underway in Barbados

International and regional organisations this morning began a three-day meeting of the Council of Directors of the CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards & Quality (CROSQ)  at the Accra Beach Resort, Bridgetown, Barbados.

During the first two days, the meeting will discuss how standardisation, trade and trade facilitation, and international health matters, among other issues, fit into the quality agenda of the region. The third day is a closed meeting exclusive to the directors to look at the direction and development of quality infrastructure for the year ahead.

Private Sector Capacity Building and Consultation: CARICOM Strategy for Regional Implementation of the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation

hqcomplexnewThe Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat has convened a Private Sector Consultation and capacity building workshop on the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation (TFA) and the CARICOM Strategy for Regional Implementation.   

The Meeting, intended for national Business Development Organisations from CARICOM WTO Members, takes place in Kingston, Jamaica, 19-20 April, 2017,   with the support of the Commonwealth Secretariat/European Union Hubs & Spokes II Programme, in collaboration with the World Bank Group (WBG). CARICOM Secretariat holds discussion with Caribbean Central American Action

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM)  Secretariat received a delegation from the Caribbean Central American Action (CCAA) on Tuesday, 4 April, 2017.

The CCAA delegation included Mr. Rick Murrell, Chairman of Tropical Shipping and Vice Chairman of the Board; Ms. Sally Yearwood, Executive Director; Mrs. Jennifer Nugent-Hill, Director, Government and Community Affairs, Tropical Shipping; Ms. Glenis Hodge, Country Manager, Tropical Shipping; Mr. Mark Lopez, Assistant Vice President, Tropical Shipping; and Mr. William Girard III, Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, Tropical Shipping.

The CARICOM Secretariat was represented by Ambassador Colin Granderson, Assistant Secretary-General, Foreign and Community Relations; Mr. Joseph Cox, Assistant Secretary-General, Trade and Economic Integration; Dr. Pauline Yearwood, Deputy Programme Manager, Transportation; and Mr. Dia Christian, Senior Project Officer, CARICOM Single Market and Economy.
