23 April update – reduced curfew hours
Office of the Prime Minister, St. Johns – The Cabinet of Antigua & Barbuda today, in light of the stabilization and reduction in the prevalence of new Covid cases, has agreed to reduce the curfew hours from 6PM to 6Am daily. However, the duration of the curfew has been extended to May 15, 2020.
The Cabinet also agreed that retail businesses, other than the prior approved list of essential and approved businesses, may operate limited delivery, curbside, or pick-up (takeaway) services. All other businesses to include, bars, nightclubs, hairdressing, barbershops shall remain closed.
The beaches and social gatherings remain strictly prohibited.
The various health protocols including, social distancing, mandatory wearing of mask, personal hygiene etiquette remain in place.
No more than two persons per family should travel together and car/transport pooling is strictly prohibited.
Senior Citizens and individuals with underlying health conditions, including co-morbidities are strongly encouraged to stay at home.
In the meantime, the Cabinet has mandated health officials to expedite the implementation of broad based Covid testing.
We commend the citizenry for their adherence to the health protocols and call upon them to remain responsible and vigilant.
