Tropical storm causes deaths in Haiti, Dominican Republic
At least nine people have died in the Caribbean after Tropical Storm Laura swept through the region over the weekend.
News reports are indicating that Tropical Storm Laura caused at least five deaths in Haiti an three deaths in the Dominican Republic. Among the dead are an 11-year old girl and a seven-year old boy.
According to CNN, Tropical Storm Laura is getting stronger in the warm waters of the Caribbean and will likely become a hurricane Tuesday.
CNN said Tropical Storm Laura that parts of Cayman, Cuba and the Florida Keys are under tropical storm watches and warnings. It anticipated that Hurricane watches will likely be issued Monday.
Laura is one of two active storms currently. The other is Tropical Storm Marco which is weakening.
