CARICOM Secretariat Staff Talent Celebration begins

Deputy Secretary-General, Dr. Armstrong Alexis admires a display of unusual plant pots as exhibitor Ms. Sharon Jordan, explains her technique

Dr. Armstrong Alexis, CARICOM Deputy Secretary-General, on Monday launched the Secretariat’s annual Staff Talent Celebration at the Headquarters in Georgetown, Guyana.

The Deputy Secretary-General said the week-long event signalled the start of the festive season within the Secretariat. He commended members of staff for the high level of talent and creativity on display.

Mr. Timothy Odle, President of the CARICOM Secretariat Staff Association, said that the Association was pleased to collaborate with the planning committee to organise the eventthe first in-person celebration in two years. Virtual activities were held during the period of lock-down due to COVID-19.

Activities during the week will include ‘How to’ demonstrations on Tuesday when staff will share their expertise in various areas; a culinary exhibition on Wednesday; a talent show on Thursday; and games night on Friday.
