More evidence-based decisions needed – Guyana’s Finance Minister tells Statisticians

Guyana’s Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable Ashni Singh, on Monday called for a greater reliance on available empirical data in the decision-making processes across the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). The Minister was at the time delivering the feature address at the opening of the 39th meeting of the Standing Committee of Caribbean Statisticians and the 24th meeting the Regional Census Coordinating Committee (RCCC). The meetings are being held in Georgetown, Guyana under the theme ‘Data revolution for sustainable development in CARICOM – designing and operationalising a framework for statistics’.
