Continue to be passionate, vigilant – statisticians advised
Dr. Philomen Harrison, Project Director, Regional Statistics at the CARICOM Secretariat, has urged statisticians across the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to continue to be passionate and vigilant about their work.
I would like to urge fellow Directors of Statistics/Chief Statisticians to continue to be passionate about their work while being vigilant. There is a lot more to be accomplished by statisticians in serving country and Community.
In remarks Monday at the opening of Regional statistics meetings being held in Georgetown, Guyana, Dr. Harrison also highlighted the challenges facing statisticians. These include resources, the principles of independence and confidentiality and the development of the profession.
