Happy Errol Barrow Day Barbados

Barbados today observes Errol Barrow Day in honour of the father of independence and National Hero.
This year’s celebration takes on added significance as the country builds up to its 50th anniversary of political independence. An Errol Barrow Day Trident Run will be held today from Independence Square in Bridgetown, and several sites along the route on which Mr. Barrow, left an indelible mark, will be acknowledged.
Among those institutions are Parliament, Government Headquarters, the Cruising Club, the Hilton Hotel; the Military Cemetery, where some of his ashes are buried, the Garrison, Culloden Farm and Ilaro Court.
