Spectacular clouds amaze onlookers; metereologist explains

Over the past few days, some amazing and spectacular clouds have been making their appearances over Dominica.The clouds have produced dramatic sunsets which have had many onlookers in awe.

Viola Pascal of the Dominica Met Office explained that these types of clouds can occur at any time of the year as long as the right conditions exist.

“It can happen at any time of the year, once you have the right conditions meaning that you have enough moisture going through all the levels of the atmosphere …” she stated.

She said the clouds that are presently being seen are mid-level clouds called Altocumulus and their appearance can be credited to a trough system which is in the area.
