CARICOM Secretariat mounts display to observe Caribbean Wellness Day
Today is being observed as Caribbean Wellness Day. The day is being celebrated under the theme ‘Healthy Children in Healthy Environments’. In recognition of Caribbean Wellness Day the CARICOM Secretariat has mounted a display highlighting the importance of healthy habits and highlighting the theme this year.
Since 2008, on every second Saturday in September people, organisations and communities from all over the Region have come together for CWD to strengthen the all-of-society response to non-communicable diseases (NCDs), promoting healthy living, activities and programmes that support wellness. This special day for health was mandated by the 2007 CARICOM Heads of Government Port-of-Spain Declaration on NCDs. In previous years the CARICOM Secretariat hosted various events and activities in recognition of Caribbean Wellness Day. Check out these flashback photos from Caribbean Wellness Day in 2014.
