Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Dr. Hubert Minnis, addressing the nation, Monday:
“Let me emphasize at the outset, that Hurricane Irma may pose a direct and serious threat to The Bahamas.

Given our recent experience with Hurricanes Joaquin and Matthew, it is imperative that we are proactive. We must take all necessary precautions in preparing for Hurricane Irma, which is currently a Category 3, with winds of 115 mph.”
