Date set for CCJ referendum in Antigua and Barbuda

November 6 is the date when Antiguans and Barbudans will vote in a referendum to determine whether the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) would be the nation’s final court of appeal.

Lionel “Max” Hurst, chief of staff disclosed the information during Thursday’s post-Cabinet press conference.

He also revealed that the process would likely proceed with or without the support of the opposition United Progressive Party (UPP). The opposition party is being blamed for stalling the process due to certain concerns it expressed regarding constitutional reform.
