Guyana joins the World Wildlife Fund  (WWF) and its Earth Hour Partners  in observing Earth Hour with  a Lights-Out Concert at the National Park tonight to symbolize Guyana’s continued commitment to halting climate change and its dedication to reducing its own carbon footprint. The evening will feature song, poetry, dance and the symbolic LIGHTS-OFF event from 8:30 to 9:30 PM.

WWF’s Earth Hour is a global annual event where hundreds of millions of people switch off their lights for one hour to show they care about our planet.  Today, Saturday, 28 March 8:30 p.m. local time, individuals, businesses, cities and landmarks around the world will switch off their lights for one hour to focus attention on climate change. As the lights go out, Earth Hour supporters will also be contributing real climate solutions to combat the globe’s biggest environmental challenge.
