TODAY is Budget Day in Barbados. The highly anticipated 2015-2016 Financial Statement and Budgetary proposals will be delivered at 4 p.m. by Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Christopher Sinckler, and will represent a chance for Barbadians to get news about the state of the island’s economy and the Government’s financial measures, which will be put in place to move the economy forward.

Minister Sinckler stated recently, in an interview with the Barbados Government Information Service, that it was designed to bring stability to the island’s economy and ensure that public finances were brought back to a state of order. According to him, this move would provide the necessary assistance to businesses, so they could continue to cope with the economic situation and take advantage of existing opportunities.

He maintained that Government is working towards maintaining growth in the foreign reserves, reducing the fiscal deficit and improving the economy.
