Incoming CARICOM Chairman promises athletes strong promotion of healthy lifestyles

Incoming Chairman of CARICOM, Prime Minister of Barbados, Rt. Hon. Freundel Stuart has promised athletes who participated in the CARICOM road races on Sunday he will give strong support to promoting healthy lifestyles during his Chairmanship, which begins on 1 July 2015.

Prime Minister Stuart expressed disappointment with  the growing cases of life-style attributable diseases across the region and commended the CARICOM Road Races – a 10K for adults, 5K for senior students and a one mile for junior students –  for helping to create a healthy foundation for the Region’s youth.  The races were held under the theme “The Health of a Nation is the Wealth of a Nation”.
