Danny becomes first Hurricane of the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season: Potential threat to Eastern Caribbean next week

Danny has strengthened into the first hurricane of the 2015 Atlantic hurricane season.
At 11 a.m. today Hurricane Danny was located about 1,090 miles east of the Windward Islands. Maximum sustained winds are now 75 miles per hour with higher gusts. Some additional strengthening is possible as Danny moves west-northwest over the next several days.
Hurricane Danny is not expected to reach the islands of the Eastern Caribbean before early next week and is then expected to weaken in the eastern Caribbean Sea.
