CARICOM SG joins Dominica PM on tour of devastated areas

CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque today joined Dominica Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit on a tour of two devastated areas – Coulibistrie and Colihaut.
Ambassador LaRocque is in Dominica for a first hand assessment of the damage caused by tropical storm Erika and to assist with the recovery effort.
CARICOM Institution CDEMA (Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency) is coordinating the regional response on the ground in Dominica where tropical storm Erika’s torrential rain caused widespread destruction on Thursday 27 August. The Government has declared nine special disaster areas.
