Speaking here Monday night at the opening of the fifth Caribbean Sustainable Energy Forum (CSEF), Executive Director of the IDB Jerry Butler noted that the issue of energy and the issue of renewable energy have been of constant focus for the institution.

“Next year we are going to lend US$13 billion and of that amount we’ve carved out 30 percent of it for climate change, agriculture and renewable energy. In fact, 20 percent of that $13 billion in the Americas will be devoted to climate change and renewable energy,” Butler said.
