CARICOM Chair Commends PM Harris’ Yeoman Service

Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, the Hon Allen Chastanet, has commended the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris, for the yeoman service he rendered to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) over the past six month.

Prime Minister Chastanet, the incoming Chair of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM, expressed his appreciation to Dr. Harris – who was in the Chair from January to June 2019 – during the opening ceremony of the 40th Meeting of the Heads of Government on Wednesday 3 June, in Castries, Saint Lucia. The ceremony was held at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian Hotel.

During his tenure, PM Harris led high-level CARICOM delegations to the United Nations, Uruguay, Ecuador and Costa Rica and had productive discussions with the International Contact Group (ICG) on the political crisis in Venezuela. The ICG comprises the EU, eight of its Member States and several Latin American countries including Costa Rica, Ecuador and Uruguay. (Adapted from SKNIS Press Release)
