CARICOM Deputy Secretary-General, Ambassador Manorma Soeknandan, Ph.D, last week addressed a Caribbean Center for Development Administration (CARICAD) – Latin American Center for Development Administration (CLAD) Symposium in Trinidad and Tobago. The Ministerial Symposium that was held 16-17 July, explored the theme ‘The Public Service as a Mechanism for Strengthening Public Administration – Building Bridges of Solidarity and Cooperation. In her presentation, Ambassador Soeknandan provided context by referring to Article 76 of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas whose provisions relate to the Role of Public Authorities. She also provided insight into the Reform Process now underway at the CARICOM Secretariat.
