CARICOM Foreign Ministers meet in Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia will host the 18th Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR). The Meeting will officially open this evening.
This Meeting of the Region’s Foreign Ministers, will address wide-ranging issues including engagements with important third countries, modalities for selection of candidates for international organisations and matters related to the Region’s participation in hemispheric and international bodies including the UN, OAS, CELAC, and the Commonwealth.
The Meeting will also consider the establishment of a Regional consultative process on migration.
The Foreign Ministers will also devote part of their meeting to engagements with their counterparts from Ecuador, Japan, New Zealand and Sweden on matters of mutual interest.
This Meeting of the COFCOR comes ahead of, and will feed decisions into, the regular meeting of CARICOM Heads of Government to be held in Barbados, 3-4 July 2015.
