CARICOM and Japan share the basic values that are freedom, democracy, respectful basic human rights  and rules of law. And we have constructed a relationship of friendship and cooperation. The head of state meeting that was held in July (in Trinidad and Tobago) marked the new chapter of the relationship between CARICOM and Japan.
