CARICOM Staff Talent Celebration declared open by Secretary General LaRocque
The CARICOM Secretariat‘s annual Staff Talent celebrations kicked off Wednesday morning with CARICOM Secretary General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque declaring the event open.
Ambassador LaRocque told the opening ceremony he was amazed at the high level of talent and creativity displayed by staff at the CARICOM Secretariat. He said such an event engendered camaraderie among staff. Following the ceremony the Secretary General toured an exhibition of visual art, a horticultural display and collectibles. Wednesday’s activities also included a how-to show with staff demonstrating how to recycle jeans, do makeup, make smoothies, digital art, make ingenious salads and explore urban food production systems.
Other activities will include Tasty Thursday when staff will participate in a culinary exhibition with foods, traditional beverages and baked delicacies from various CARICOM Member Countries. This will be followed by a dance-a-ton to various types of music including Zumba and Thairobics.
There will also be a Chill off Friday which will include performing arts such as singing, dancing, modelling and a skit, followed by Grill Master and Cocktail/Mixology Competitions.
