CARICOM Trade Ministers meet Thursday, Friday

Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Ministers with responsibility for trade will gather in Georgetown, Guyana, Thursday and Friday for the Forty-Third Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED).

The two-day Meeting will be held at Ramada Georgetown Princess Hotel.

Focus will be placed on the implementation of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME). Among the matters the Ministers will also consider are those related to the Community’s external economic and trade relations; trade in agriculture; and health. The latter includes discourse on a Caribbean Regulatory System for Medicines, and Inter-sectoral action against Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).

Technical officials met at the CARICOM Secretariat on Monday and Tuesday to lay the groundwork for the Ministerial session.
