CARIFESTA XII Grand Market to open tonight

Champs des Mars, Haiti on Saturday afternoon was a flurry of activity with CARIFESTA XII officials frantically preparing for the opening of the Grand Market. Country representatives and organizations could be seen setting up their displays and decorating their booths in anticipation of being ready for the evening’s activities

President of Haiti His Excellency Michel Martelly also paid a visit to the Grand Market venue and was warmly welcomed by everyone.

The Grand Market will include a huge stage where there will be performances every night for the duration of the festival beginning at approximately 6:30 each night. There will also be displays from various countries showcasing various types of art and culture from across the CARICOM Region. There will also be food on sale representative of the various CARICOM countries.
