CAYMAN ISLANDS ELECTIONS 2017 – update
No clear winner emerged from the General Elections in the Cayman Islands on Wednesday 24 May 2017.
Independent candidates won the majority of the seats – nine of the nineteen at stake. The incumbent Peoples Progress Movement of Premier Alden McLaughlin won seven and the main opposition Cayman Democratic Party (CDP) led by McKeeva Bush, three.
Political observers expect a coalition government to emerge from among the successful candidates.
