Cricket in the West Indies
Prime Minister the Hon. Gaston Browne was on hand on Monday for Day One of the First West Indies versus England Test Match at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium which produced some highs and lows for both teams.
The West Indies good fortunes commenced early in the England innings with the fall of the first three wickets with 34 runs on the board, however England sprung back to life with a charming 143 from Ian Bell propelling the team to a commanding total on Day On.
At the end of the day’s play England were 341 for 5 with Roach, Taylor and Holder taking the wickets. The thousands gathered at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium had an enjoyable day of cricket.
