Election Day in St. Kitts and Nevis

The people of St. Kitts and Nevis vote today in general elections.

The electoral office has announced that the 123 polling stations will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m.

The ruling St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) led by Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas is seeking a fifth consecutive term in office. The SKNLP has entered an arrangement with the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) for today’s poll. They will be challenged by Team Unity led by Dr. Timothy Harris, a combination of opposition groupings including the main opposition Peoples Action Movement (PAM), the People’s Labour Party (PLP) and the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM).

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat has mounted an Electoral Observer Mission to monitor today’s elections. The mission will observe today’s electoral process, including the opening of the poll, the voting process, the closing of the poll and counting of the ballots.
