First quarter of 2015 was Earth’s warmest ever
MARYLAND, United States, Wednesday April 22, 2015 – After experiencing its warmest year on record in 2014, Earth has had its warmest first quarter of the year on record in 2015, including its warmest March, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
The temperature averaged around the globe last month was 1.53F above the 20th century average, beating the previous record holder, March 2010, by 0.09F.
The average global temperature for January through March 2015 was 1.48F above the 20th century average, surpassing the previous warmest first quarter of January to March 2002.
