Grenadian youth on clean-up initiative before Independence celebrations
A group of young people from the community of St. Mark in Grenada along with Grenada’s female CARICOM Youth Ambassador, Amanda Scott, embarked on a environmental clean-up and beautification initiative. About 20 youngsters participated in the activity which was geared at beautification of their community and safe-guarding of their environment.
As Grenada’s Independence approaches on February 7, 2016, nationals portray their patriotism through painting of walls and bridges in the national colours red, green and yellow, planting of flowers amongst other creative and innovative gestures. This year the national clean-up expanded beyond Independence as nationals adopted preventive measures to avoid an outbreak of the recent Zika virus.
