Guyana tragedy saddens Community
CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque has expressed his and the Community’s condolence to the Government and People of Guyana on the recent tragic accident which claimed seven lives.
In a condolence message to the President of Guyana, His Excellency Donald Ramotar, the Secretary-General said the sadness was compounded by the fact that six of the deceased were children, not yet in their teens.
Reports indicate the six children and a teacher died when the vehicle carrying them from a Mashramani activity on 20 February 2015 ended up in a canal.
