Haiti on track for elections this year – President Martelly

Mister President,

Allow me to discuss the situation of my country, the Republic of Haiti last August, an important step was taken in the consolidation of the democracy. An independent electoral council, chosen by civil society has  started the electoral process that should lead by the end of this year, the achievement of presidential, legislative, municipal and territorial.

I am happy to report to this Assembly that the country is on track. The Haitian people did demonstrate political maturity and ability to take control of his destiny.
