The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has congratulated Antigua and Barbuda on the country’s thirty-fourth anniversary of Independence, 1 November 2015.

CARICOM Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, in a congratulatory message to Antiguan Prime Minister Hon. Gaston Brown, praised Antigua and Barbuda as a stalwart in the regional integration movement, always prepared to do its part to strengthen and further the interest of the Region.

This year’s Independence celebrations are being held under the theme “Antigua and Barbuda, Rebuilding with Unity and Purpose”.  The CARICOM SG said this speaks to the harmony and shared vision of the peoples of the two sister islands in their continued strides for a better future.
