Highlights of the Secretary-General’s official visit to Japan
Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque paid an official visit to Japan, 24-26 July, 2017.
While in Japan, the Secretary-General delivered a lecture to diplomats, university students, professors and business persons on the evolution of CARICOM, and CARICOM-Japan relations. His activities included discussions with representatives of the Climate Change Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan; with State Minister, Mr. Nobuo Kishi; as well as with representatives of the Sophia University which has an exchange programme with the University of the West Indies (UWI).
Secretary-General LaRocque also attended a traditional Japanese dinner hosted by Mr. Takahiro Nakamae, Assistant Minister and Director General of the Latin American and Caribbean Affairs Bureau.
