Memorial to Honour Slave Trade Victims opens in Guadeloupe
Several Caribbean Heads of State joined French President Francois Hollande in Guadeloupe on Sunday 10 May 2015 to inaugurate Guadeloupe Islands’ Mémorial ACTe – a cultural center dedicated to the Memory and History of the Slave Trade. The Memorial ACTe is part of UNESCO’s Slave Route Project, a global initiative to promote the rapprochement of people through the shared legacy of this tragedy.
This video by the Guadeloupe authorities describes the various elements of the Memorial.
