Bahamas Information Services, Nassau:  Prime Minister and Minister of Finance the Rt. Hon. Perry Christie (pictured left) and various stakeholders operating under the umbrella of the National Emergency Management Agency updated the nation on the possible severity of the approaching Hurricane Matthew and the plans that are already in place for the arrival of the category 4 storm, at the NEMA Headquarters, Gladstone Road, yesterday, Tuesday October 4, 2016.

According to the latest information, Hurricane Matthew will affect the entire Bahamas and is forecast to pass close enough to New Providence to bring hurricane-force winds and destructive sea surges.

Residents were encouraged to quickly complete their preparations, and those near the coastlines of all islands in The Bahamas were told to possibly seek higher ground or find shelter with family inland or at designated locations.  Also pictured are Commissioner of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Ellison Greenslade (centre), and Commander (Actg.) of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Captain Tellis Bethel (right).
