Professor Verene Shepherd to address UN

University of the West Indies’ Professor Verene Shepherd, has been invited by the United Nations to deliver the keynote address at the special commemorative sitting of the UN General Assembly on Friday.

This special meeting of the UN has been called to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination under the theme: ‘Learning from Historical Tragedies to Combat Racial Discrimination Today’. Professor Shepherd is the chairperson of Jamaica’s National Commission on Reparations of the Ministry of Youth and Culture.
