Regional education sector gets technological boost with launch of CXC Connect

Did you know that CXC students can now access their examination results via mobile devices such as cell phones and tablets?

The education sector recently got this technological boost with the launch of a new App by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) called CXC Connect, which gives students, parents and teachers the ability to access CXC results as well as a host of other information via the click of a button on a mobile device. The app is being launched in four CARICOM Member States, namely, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Guyana. The first launch event was held in Barbados. The most recent launch was held in Guyana on Monday, 31 July, 2017. Guyana Minister of Education, the Hon. Nicolette Henry, and Deputy Programme Manager, ICT4D at the CARICOM Secretariat, Ms. Jennifer Britton, as well as officials from the CXC, students, parents, teachers and representatives from the Guyana Ministry of Education attended the event at the Giftland Mall, Turkeyen.

There was also a demonstration of the app during the launch event.

The App has a news feed which pulls content from CXC social media spaces with push notifications for specific messages. With the App, users are able to use their mobile devices to access a range of services being offered by the CXC which includes a chat feature which appears in five discussion categories and connects users to a CXC agent. Other features of the App include a frequently asked questions library and new subject releases.

The CXC Connect App became available on July 26. It is designed for Android and iOS devices and can be downloaded from the Apple Store and the Google Play Store.
