Response after Erika ‘overwhelming’ – PM Skerrit

One month after Tropical Storm Erika created havoc in Dominica, Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit has described as ‘overwhelming’ the support received from regional and international countries and organizations.
The country’s leader made the remarks in an interview with state-owned DBS Radio.
“So far it has been very encouraging and overwhelming, if I would say,” Skerrit said.
According to him, after a disaster normally there are phases of assistance, the first being that of relief. He noted that many countries have given support in kind in equipment and technical support in that regard.
