SVG CYA’s to donate blood for World Blood Donor Day
In commemoration of World Blood Donor Day on Sunday June 14, 2015, the CARICOM Youth Ambassadors’ St. Vincent and the Grenadines committee will be donating blood at the blood bank of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital Friday 12th June from 1pm. They will be joined by members of the Youth Advocacy Movement and the Carpe Diem Society. This collaboration of youth is encouraging all Vincentians to participate under the slogan, “Give freely, give often. Blood donation matters.”
Through this amalgamation, the CYAs’ SVG Committee wants to encourage group cohesion, motivate youth and the entire population to help save a life by becoming a blood donor. Simultaneously, we would like to acknowledge the regular blood donors and encourage them to continue saving lives.
According to the World Health Organisation, the theme for this year will be, ‘Thank you for saving my life’. It focuses on thanking blood donors who save lives through their blood donations and strongly encourages more people all over the nation to donate blood voluntarily and regularly.
