SVG’s CARICOM Youth Ambassador committee takes Orange day to the Airwaves

On 25 September, 2017, Orange Day, members of the CARICOM Youth Ambassador committee addressed the nation on radio attempting to highlight the issue of domestic violence, the new Domestic violence act and how it protects victims.
The stations visited were Hot 97 SVG and National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC Radio)

The United Nations Secretary-General’s Campaign UNiTE to End Violence Against Women has designated the 25th of every month as ‘Orange Day’ to raise awareness and take action to end violence against women and girls.
As a bright and optimistic colour, orange represents a future free from violence against women and girls. Orange Day calls upon civil society, governments, and UN partners to mobilise people and highlight issues relevant to preventing and ending violence against women and girls, not only once a year on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (25 November), but every month.
