UWI degrees for Rudder, Besson

[su_pullquote align=”right”]“I am honoured that my work has been recognised by the University and also that the Caribbean sees validity in my work. Sometimes you really don’t know where your art and what you create will take you, because you are just doing what you believe you are here to do and then people let you know that you are appreciated.” – David Rudder[/su_pullquote]Calypsonian David Rudder is among those who will receive an honorary degree from The University of the West Indies (UWI) later this year
In October and November UWI will confer honourary degrees on 21 individuals during graduation ceremonies on the four campuses, Cave Hill (Barbados), Mona (Jamaica), St Augustine and the Open Campus. The degrees are being awarded to the persons in question for their outstanding achievements and service to the region in their respective fields.
The UWI Chancellor Sir George Alleyne will confer the degrees at the UWI graduation exercises of each campus. As is customary, one of the honorary graduands will address the audience at each of the ceremonies.
