Media Advisory – Caribbean Week of Agriculture 2018
(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana) The Caribbean Week of Agriculture will be held in Bridgetown, Barbados, 8-12 October, 2018, under the theme ‘Strengthening agriculture for a healthier future in the Region’. The CWA will be formally opened on 10 October, 2018 at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre. Please visit the CWA website: http://www.cwa2018.caricom.org for additional details.
During the five-day period, the opportunity is taken by regional organisations to host a number of workshops, which will be held simultaneously throughout each day. Among the topics to be covered under the Technical Workshops to be conducted, will be the following:
• Development of the Regional Coconut Industry.
• Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship
• Climate Resilience in the Agriculture and Fisheries Sectors
• Small Ruminants
• The School Feeding Programme
There will be a Trade Show and Market Place and a series of Ministerial meetings will also be convened during the hosting of CWA 2018. As is customary, a Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) on Agriculture will be held.

Media representatives planning to cover the CWA 2018 are advised to commence the process of accreditation, travel, and accommodation arrangements as soon as possible to facilitate the appropriate level of facility at the event venues.
