CARICOM Delegation in New York holds pre-Meeting ahead of talks with UN SG
The CARICOM Delegation in New York to meet with UN Secretary-General HE Antonio Guterres on the crisis in Venezuela held a preparatory session this morning.
CARICOM Chairman, Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Timothy Harris of St. Kitts and Nevis, is leading the delegation which includes Prime Minister Dr. Hon Keith Rowley of Trinidad and Tobago, Prime Minister Hon Mia Mottley of Barbados, CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque and the Foreign Ministers of Barbados, Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago.
The meeting is a follow-up to the decision of CARICOM Heads of Government at their Special Emergency Meeting on Thursday which discussed the on-going situation in Venezuela. The CARICOM Leaders agreed to request a meeting with the UN Secretary-General which he accepted.
