Tributes continue to pour in for Sir Alister

Tributes continue to pour in as the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the wider international community mourn the loss of former CARICOM Secretary-General and Vice chancellor emeritus of the University of the West Indies (UWI), Sir Alister McIntyre.

Sir Alister, who was awarded the Order or the Caribbean Community (OCC), the Region’s highest honour, died on 20 April 2019, in Jamaica.

Sir Alister never wavered in his belief in and commitment https://t.co/yWPuwXVo1v to the people of the Region. His was a life spent embedded in the Caribbean ethos.

The 87-year-old Grenadian national was remembered as a titan, a true champion of regional integration, a respected economist, educator, and an intellectual giant.
