Dominica down to just three active cases

Minister of Health Dr Irving McIntyre on Saturday announced that the number of active cases in Dominica had dropped to three.

Of the 16 patients who have tested positive, thirteen have recovered to date. There were no new cases reported in the past 18 days.

Mr McIntyre said because of this, his Ministry’s technical committee for COVID-19 operations has recommended some amendments to the State of Emergency measures to allow more more services to resume operations.

“The recommendations in addition to the services which are already functioning would include insurance companies, laundry services, book stores and auto mechanic shops,”

Bars, nightclubs, hair salons and barbershops are among businesses that will remain closed, although the Minister has promised a further review when the second cycle of the curfew ends on 4 May.
