Self-sufficiency, security in food common thread of COTED Meeting

Self-sufficiency and security in food was the common thread of the deliberations of the Fifty-Ninth Special Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) on Agriculture held Thursday and Friday and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat.

Interacting with representatives of the media on Friday afternoon at the conclusion of the Meeting, the Hon Eugene Hamilton, Minister of Agriculture of St. Kitts and Nevis and Chairman of COTED said that intra-Regional trade in food and agricultural products remained one of the greatest potentials for achieving a higher level of food self-sufficiency.
