Regional Nursing Body meets – strengthening nursing exam high on agenda

The Regional Nursing Body is holding its annual interim meeting at the CARICOM Secretariat in Guyana, with the performance of the CXC managed Regional Examination for Nurse Registration (RENR) among the items on the agenda.

Deputy Chair of the Regional Nursing Body and Chief Nursing Officer in Barbados Dr. Wendy Sealy says the meeting had the opportunity to hear from the Registrar of CXC which has been managing the exam for the past three years.

CXC Registrar Mr. Glenroy Cumberbatch said he was able to point to some aspects of the performance of the exam that can be improved.

The Meeting which began on Monday is being attended by a wide cross section of Regional Health officials and representatives of several institutions including the CARICOM Secretariat, PAHO, University of Guyana, University of the West Indies and CXC.
