CARICOM accredits new envoy from Kazakhstan

CARICOM Secretariat, Georgetown, Guyana – The Republic of Kazakhstan on Wednesday signalled its intention to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) as a new envoy of the Central Asian country was accredited.

Ambassador Irwin LaRocque, CARICOM Secretary-General received the letter of credence of His Excellency Andrian Yelemessov at the headquarters of the CARICOM Secretariat in Georgetown, Guyana, on 20 March 2019, in a brief ceremony.

Secretary-General LaRocque expressed the Community’s appreciation for Kazakhstan’s in the areas of water resource management. In acknowledging Kazakhstan’s support for sustainable development in Small Island and low-lying coastal Developing States (SIDS) such as those in CARICOM, the Secretary-General informed the Ambassador of the Community’s efforts towards becoming a climate resilient region.
