Airport restoration showing progress – post Erika Dominica

Dominica’s main Douglas-Charles airport is getting closer to becoming operational again, according the Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit.
The Prime Minister visited the airport today and was on hand to see one of the regional airline LIAT’s ATR land on a now debris-free runway, and meet LIAT’s CEO Mr. David Evans who was on board the flight.

The Douglas-Charles airport has been closed since the 27 August passage of Tropical Storm Erika which deposited mud and debris on the runway and flooded the terminal, causing extensive damage to equipment.
