Flood warning in effect for Dominica

This system will spread cloudy to overcast skies, pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain, scattered thunderstorms and occasional gusty winds over the island.
Rainfall accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are possible with isolated higher amounts.

Due to the already saturated nature of the soil, any additional rainfall is likely to result in further flooding and landslides.

Hence, residents in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are urged to take all necessary precautions to protect life and property.

This warning may be further extended should conditions become necessary.
